I recently stopped doing Acrylic and Gelish on my nails to give them a break. As much as I love having my nails look good, it is also imperative to keep them healthy and strong. Naturally, they seem to be relatively weak, so I decided to do some research on how I can strengthen them.
After finding some information on how to strengthen them, I decided to put it to the test before sharing, and it is safe to say that so far these techniques are working very well.
1. Put Vitamin E Oil On
Vitamin E oil works wonders on the nails. Not only does it help make them healthy, but this oil is a fantastic moisturiser too. It is rich in antioxidants and also has the added benefit of a very light scent. Apply it to your nails and cuticles and soak up its therapeutic properties!
2. File Carefully
Nail files come in various shapes and sizes. My best advice would be to use one that doesn’t have a rough grit, as these tend to split the nails, especially if they are already weak.
3. Take A Biotin Supplement
Also known as Vitamin H, Biotin has been proven to be an amazing supplement for nails, as well as hair and bones. This vitamin can be found in any pharmacy, just make sure that it is a good quality one.
4. Be Gentle With Yourself
Manual labour isn’t very great for brittle nails. I often tend to break my nails by doing silly things like closing my fingers in my wardrobe door or playing sports without being careful.
5. Try The IBX Treatment
IBX is a penetrating, toughening agent, that fuses together the nail’s top layers to improve nail plate integrity under any Gel Polish Coating. Also used to keep your natural nails strong so that they grow long!
Benefits of the IBX treatment as a natural nail growth treatment:
– It is used to repair severe nail damage to set the stage for growth
– IBX toughens the upper layers of the nail plate allowing nail growth
– After multiple treatments, the formula fills up deep grooves, resulting in a smoother nail plate
– Your natural nail colour and appearance improved
