Energy bars are the perfect go-to treats. However, they can be full of added sugar and other not-so-desirable ingredients.
So, if you’re tired of store-bought energy bars and want a healthier option, then you need to try making your own. This recipe is not only healthy but quick and easy to make.
Cocobella’s Delectable Healthy Energy Bar Recipe
REFINED SUGAR FREE
TIME: 15 minutes excluding freezing
MAKES: 8 bars
6 heaped tbsp puffed Millet
2 – 3 heaped tbsp oats
2 tbsp Cacao nibs
1 small handful dried cranberries
5 chopped pitted fresh dates
2 heaped tbsp almond flour (use coconut flour instead for a nut free option)
1 heaped tbsp dessicated coconut
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp chia seeds
3 heaped tbsp unmelted coconut oil
You can add crushed nuts of your choice (optional)
????Place all the ingredients (except the coconut oil and the honey) in a bowl and mix to combine
???? melt the coconut oil and add the melted coconut oil and the honey into the bowl and mix until all the dry ingredients are coated
????place the ingredients in a lined baking tray and refrigerate overnight or place in freezer for 3 hours
????cut into squares and enjoy!
