The moment it stops bothering you what other people say to you or about you, they seize to have any power over you. When you choose to not let it affect you, you regain back your power over your own emotions.
Calm yourself when someone say or do something to upset you. Think of a place in time where you were happy and at peace with everyone and everything. If you can’t recall such a moment in time, create one for yourself. Create a place in your mind you can go to when you feel your blood is starting to boil…and stay there until you have managed to let go of the emotions caused by people or events, when they have no power over you anymore.
