This week the Life Retreat team have really embraced the new year. We have started new competitions, blogged about the latest fashion and jewellery trends, and kept you up to date on all things health. Here are some of our personal highlights from the last seven days.
State of Rae is a South African group that sell necklaces, earrings, bracelets and much more. Earlier this week Samantha wrote a piece on some of their most stunning jewellery.
I like to think of this jewelry style as ‘Boho’.
Bohemian style has, for over 200 years, been an exotic alternative to the accepted fashions of a given period. Generally associated with artists, writers, and intellectuals, bohemian culture incorporates various ethic clothing styles, as well as historical costume.
You can see and read about some of the items that Samantha reviewed below!

Speaking of aromatherapy, earlier this week we posted a thought provoking blog entitled Can Aromatherapy Make Me Happy?
Many oils are great for stress busting – One of the great things about aromatherapy gifts, is the fact that, as there are so many different essential oils for you to choose from, there is an oil for virtually every condition you can think of.
If you find yourself constantly feeling stressed and wound up, breathing in scents such as: lavender, grapefruit, ylang-ylang, rose, bergamot, mandarin, and many more oils for that matter, will help feelings of calmness and tranquillity wash over you.
If you want to read something that may change how you feel about happiness, we suggest you read the full article below.
We all know that February is the month of love, right? Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching and to celebrate the romantic month, Catrice Cosmetics have launched a brand new limited edition range:
Ready for Red. This lipbalm with a shiny finish and light colour dispersion pampers the sensitive skin around the lips so that it feels soft and supple. Worn on its own, it creates a natural look. Used as a basis, the Lip Colour & Care ensures particularly smooth and flawless colour results.
The full range is covered by Samantha. You can read her article below.
Finally just yesterday posted a skin care special entitled Common Moisturiser Mistakes. With this article, we wanted to highlight the fact that some of the most obvious mistakes are still the most common, while also giving tips on how to avoid making the same mistakes:
Every step of your skin care has to be done subtly, especially the application. This is where most women go wrong- thinking that a rough massage boosts the blood circulation of the skin. But this is a wrong notion. The blood circulation gets better when you gently massage your skin upon application, especially in a circular motion.
If you feel like you need to brush up on your skin care routine, we highly suggest you check the full article out by clicking here.
That’s it for another week! If you have anything you’d like to add, or perhaps a personal highlight for you over the past week, you can comment in the section below. We love to hear from you!
