What you might not know about pineapple is how infinitely useful it is to us than just as a garnish for tropical drinks. It’s a fantastic natural remedy that people all over the world use to treat most ailments.

It’s not only sweet and delicious but literally pure medicine! Here are my top six reasons to enjoy pineapple.



1. Aids digestion

Eating pineapples helps enhance digestion. This is all thanks to its bromelain content that aids in the breakdown of proteins in your body.

2. Improves Fertility

If you are planning to conceive, eat more pineapples. The antioxidants in pineapples help fight free radicals in the body. Furthermore, the Vitamin C, zinc, beta-carotene, copper and folate, all contain properties that benefit male and female fertility. In fact, I can swear it helped induce and speed up my labour.

3. Fights indigestion and alleviates arthritis

Studies have shown that regularly eating pineapple can help fight against indigestion and alleviates arthritis.

4. Prevent certain cancers

Pineapple are loaded with vitamin A and beta-carotene, which have antioxidant properties. In fact, studies show that eating natural fruits rich in flavonoids helps your body stave off lung and oral cancers.

5. Source of vitamins and minerals

Pineapple is a great source of vitamin C, which is fantastic for a healthy functioning immune system. In addition, pineapples are also rich in B-complex group of vitamins such as thiamine, folate, pyridoxine, and minerals such as manganese, copper and potassium. Furthermore, raw pineapple is a good source of manganese- one cup is packed with over 75% of your daily recommended allowance.

6. Helps prevent hypertension

If you’re trying to lower your high blood pressure, the potassium content in pineapples can help to maintain healthy blood pressure levels.
