Six Uses of Lemon For Beauty

Six Uses of Lemon For Beauty

I never run out of lemons. When they are in season, I freeze as many as I can. If you’re like me, you probably use lemon in your tea, to cook and to bake, but guess what? Your hair, skin and nails love this yellow fruit even more!

Thanks to their amazing properties, lemons have lots of beauty benefits. Here are my top six ways to use lemons in your natural beauty routine!

Six beauty uses for lemon

1. Healthy scalp and hair

Want to lighten up your hair? All you have to do is apply lemon juice to your hair before exposing it to the sun. What you’ll get is a beautiful, all-natural sun-kissed color! The lemon juice will help treat dandruff and hydrate your scalp. Therefore, feel free to apply it liberally.

2. Moisturizer

Mix a splash of coconut water with a splash of lemon juice to make a moisturizer. The coconut water helps hydrate your skin, and the juice will work its amazing brightening and clearing magic.

3. Blackhead treatment

It’s all thanks to the antibacterial properties of lemons, that they help treat acne and blackheads. All you have to do is slice a lemon, squeeze the juice onto your hands and apply on your face. The problem areas will start to fade and the acne will clear up in no time!

4. Cleansing wipes

To make a face refresher, mix some drops of lemon and tea tree essential oil into half a cup of distilled water. Apply this mixture to your face using a clean cotton pad to calm sensitive or problematic skin.

5. Skin brightener

Lemons are great for lightening and brightening complexion because they are rich in citric acid and vitamin C. Regularly use lemon juice on your skin to fade dark spots, age spots, dark circles and fine lines.

6. Nail strengthener

To strengthen and make nails healthier, mix lemon juice with some olive oil and soak your nails for up to 15 minutes. This will be a great remedy if you have dry, brittle or just plain weak nails. It will also help fix nails that have yellowed.
