Hot off the heals from a beautiful Mandela Day, we must express our gratitude to all those who brought (and continue to bring) blankets for our charity drive.
Here at the Healing Hub, we all dressed up in honour of our African cultures – and you can see how our lovely Nadine, Mel & Karen embraced the day in the pic above. I am seeing more and more how people are struggling to get good, healing, restful sleep at night, and so I have put some excellent tips and links into this newsletter to get you going!
We also have some fantastic things coming up here at the Studio, along with some exciting news for members of Momentum Health, and wonderful new family membership rates to make your movement experience a valuable (and affordable) one.
Also, from 1 September we will be adding classes (you will be able to choose from two classes each evening), and also bringing in a kid-&-parents Kundalini Yoga class!
PS. if you have not yet booked for your FREE 15min massage at our beautiful new LIFE RETREAT WELLNESS SPA – what are you waiting for? 😉

What does your current nighttime routine look like?
Is there room for improvement?
How would you feel better through deeper, more nurturing sleep?
HERE ARE SOME TIPS YOU CAN BEGIN WITH TONIGHT!
BLUE LIGHT BLUES?
Harvard Medical School recently updated a research article which shows the disasterous effects the BLUE LIGHT tech devices have on your sleep (or LACK thereof!). We will be publishing an article on this soon, but for now:
TIP: TURN NIGHT MODE ON
(better yet, set your mobile/tablet to automatically switch to nightmode at about 7pm daily)
LAMPS & CANDLES ARE YOUR NEW BEST FRIENDS
“If it was good enough for granny…” – our ancestors slept pretty early. Why? Well, they weren’t addicted to devices & bad anti social habits.
When the sun sets, your body begins to secrete the needed sleep hormones – bright lights tell your brain to stay awake.
TIP: USE NATURAL LIGHTING, LAMPS & CANDLES
MOVEMENT & MEDITATION
Enjoy calming evening movement – take a walk – or put some soothing music on while enjoying a few minutes of deep breathing (about 30min before bed is best).
TIP: MOVE & PRACTICE GENTLE BREATHING EXERCISES

READ & RELATE
Got people living with you? How about spending real quality time with the people you love, rather than living on your laptop or phone?
Living alone? Cool – sink into a great book (a real one, not a kindle variation – but the type where you can smell the pages)
TIP: PLAY BOARD GAMES WITH FAMILY… WRITE POETRY… GET CRAFTY… READ SOMETHING IMAGINATIVE
