Superfood Vegan Shake

Continuing with our superfood theme of today (see here for previous article on the most effective superfoods) we wanted to bring you a superfood recipe of the week: Superfood Vegan Shake.

This super-tasting, vegan superfood shake is made from bananas, carob, goji berries and almonds.

Bananas are high in fibre content and potassium. Gojis are full of antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids. It’s widely held that they contain more vitamin C than oranges, more beta-carotene than carrots, and more iron than steak. Almonds are rich in vitamin E and healthy monounsaturated fats. Meanwhile, carob has gallic acid and is high in phosphorus and calcium.


Superfood Vegan Shake

2 bananas
2 chunks carob
¼ cup goji berries
1 cup almonds
2 tsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 Tbsp coconut oil
Ice cubes

Cooking Instructions

Process all the ingredients in a blender until thoroughly mixed.

Garnish with mint leaves and serve in a glass.

Serves 2 people
