While there are many uses for white vinegar, apple cider vinegar has arguably even more applications. It’s not just great for health, but can work wonders in your home too.
Just ask someone that uses it – You’ll be amazed! But I have to warn you that when you try it once, you’ll be hooked for life.
Here are a few ways I like to use Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
Clean your iron
You can keep your iron clean by filling the reservoir with vinegar and turning it onto steam. Allow it to sit upright for ten minutes. Follow with water and let sit again on steam for another 10 minutes.
Remove candle wax
Once the wax is brittle to the touch, all you need to do is scrape it off using a card or spatula. Then dilute a little bit of apple cider vinegar to remove the rest of the wax. Use a cloth with the solution to rub it away.
Cleaning: Spray on surfaces, or pour on scrubby…add baking soda, scrub away. Pour down garbage disposal w/baking soda and a lemon. Let sit for a few minutes, then turn on the water and the disposal.
Keep ants away
Ants avoid that stuff like its poison, just pour.
Remove the filter and rinse it with water. Then add ACV to the tank of the humidifier and allow it to sit for 30 minutes, swishing it around every couple of minutes. Rinse and dry.
Unclogs the drain
Apple Cider Vinegar can clear a clogged drain but with the help of baking soda. Firstly, pour about half a cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by a cup of vinegar and a cup of hot water. You probably remember how baking soda and vinegar reacted from all of those school volcano projects. So, after 15 minutes, rinse it down with boiling water.
Mix 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 tbsp. baking soda and let silver jewelry sit in the mixture for a few hours. Rinse with clean water and dry and shine with a soft cloth.
Remove mildew from your bathtub
Give heavy mildew full-strength attention and for lighter stains use a 1:1 mixture diluted with water. You might want to add essential oils to the mix too for a fresh scent. A few drops of lavender or eucalyptus.
