Also, they had improved sleep quality compared to those that weren’t. Therefore, the researchers concluded that cannabis reduces pain and inflammation in people with rheumatoid arthritis while promoting sleep.
4. Strengthens bones
A study conducted by Tel Aviv University found that CBD, or cannabinoids alone make bones stronger during healing. Therefore, enhancing the maturation of the collagenous matrix, which provides the basis for new mineralisation of bone tissue.
5. Controls Epileptic seizures
A study conducted by Robert J. DeLorenzo, of Virginia Commonwealth University, showed that marijuana use could control epileptic seizures. The THC controls seizures by binding the brain cells responsible for controlling excitability and regulating relaxation.

8. Improves symptoms of Lupus, an autoimmune disorder
Medical marijuana can treat the autoimmune disorder called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Cannabis calms the immune system. Plus it reduces pain and nausea.
9. Treats inflammatory bowel diseases
In a study conducted by the University of Nottingham, researchers found that healing properties in marijuana, including THC, and cannabidiol, interact with cells in the body that play an essential role in gut function, and immune system. The cannabinoids in marijuana blocks bacteria, stopping the permeability in the gut and making the intestinal bond tighter together.
10. Marijuana protects the brain after a stroke
According to research from the University of Nottingham, marijuana may help protect the brain from damage caused by stroke, by reducing the size of the area affected by the stroke. However, this is still in the testing stage in animals but isn’t the only research that shows neuroprotective effects from cannabis. Furthermore, some research indicates that the plant can help protect the brain after other traumatic events such as concussions.
11. Cannabis promotes heart health
Research shows how cannabis has a positive impact on heart health. A study found that cannabis can cause blood vessels to relax and also dilate. As a result, blood pressure decreases because blood circulation improves.
12. It Can Regulate and Prevent Diabetes
A study published in The American Journal of Medicine showed that people who use cannabis have lower insulin levels by 16-17%. The findings from this study suggest that cannabis plays a crucial role in the onset and progression of diabetes.
