“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

“Life is about 10% of what happens to us and 90% how we react to it!”
After having studied Analytical Psychology at Carl Gustav Jung Institute in Zürich, I also immersed myself in The Science of Energy Healing, the wonderful Colour System of Aura Soma® and the energy medicine of Life Alignment. A mother of 3 children, I grew up in Germany, and have lived, studied and worked as a therapist for more than 15 years in Switzerland. I draw tools from various modalities in my work. “Breathe, dance and live the magic of life.”
I use pilates and functional fitness to help people develop their personal strength and wellbeing. I have a Diploma in Personal Training, as well as Group Fitness and Pilates from ETA College.
When not teaching classes, I practice as a Sports Masseur, working with clients to find balance and deep muscular healing.
My favourite quote at the moment is:
“Slow down and enjoy yourself a little more. Don’t be so serious. Life is not a race”.
I have been practicing Yoga since 2006 and it was love at first sight!
I am very passionate about sharing the ancient art and science of yoga with people of all ages and enjoy teaching Hatha Yoga with a flow Viyasa style (intelligently placed steps), Restorative Yoga as well as Children’s Yoga.
The Vinyasa style uses the synchronization of breath, movement and mind. What is taught is always relevant to the time, place, season, weather conditions, the age and experience of the students.
The restorative Yoga is beneficial for anyone who is a new to yoga, recovering from an illness, operation/injury or anyone who is simply needing a calm, safe and peaceful space to just Be.
Children’s yoga is a wonderful tool to teach little Sprouts confidence and mindfulness. Introducing yoga to children at an early age will teach them healthylifestyle habits, being present, awake and aware. Yoga is a perfect, gentle, non-competitive way to involve children in a healthy foundation of physical fitness, personal discovery, respect for self and others and the environment and focuses on improving the connection between breath, mind and body.
I obtained my Yoga Teacher certification through Ananda Sanga in 2011 and my Children’s Yoga certification through Yoga4Kids in 2013.
Gratitude is probably one of the most simple yet powerful things humans can do for each other.
GRACE IS TO BE MOVING, ACTING and LIVING WITH POTENTIAL.
(Curative Yoga ~ Hatha Yoga / Vinyasa Yoga). I teach a different style and sequence, according to the ruling planet for each day of the week. A sacred space is created to allow movement of energy within the body to realign, rejuvenate and set a rhythmic tone for the week to come.
My qualifications include (Level 1) 200 hours Yoga Alliance Accredited Training by Jim Harrington: Applied Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga; Art and the technique of adjustments as well as the Philosophy of Yoga.
120 hours Yoga Fundamentals Training with Yoga Synergy
Healing Modalities: Accessing the Akashic Records Certified Practitioner & Numerology Shared Readings.
“Life is filled with infinite possibilities!”
I teach gentle Yin Yoga, suitable for people who need gradual mobilization and tender care. I do my best to create a class atmosphere that is subtle, serene and sentient.
I studied Integral Vinyasa Hatha Yoga in 2002 (Ananda Sanga). As a Eurythmy Teacher, I also teach children in creative ways.
A Bhakti Yogini at heart, I adore sharing my love for sacred music, and devotional singing, while creating sacred soundscapes for people. Through Access Bars and Matrix Re-Imprinting, I help people become friends with their emotions and clear limiting negative thought patterns.
“Every day is magic”
Fran finds her connection in nature, and when she is not on the mat she can be found frolicking somewhere in the mountains.
After some time in Nature Conservation and a stint in Journalism and Online Marketing, she decided to do her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Certificate (Ananda Sanga Educational Institute) as well as her Pilates Mat Certificate (BASI). Shortly after she qualified in the Advanced Pilates Equipment Training (CME / Renee Watson). She further trained in Pre- and Post-Natal Yoga as well as the healing MYYO Technique. Her passion for yoga finally led her to India where she completed her Advanced Yoga Training at Yoga Vidya Gurukul. Fran’s interest in the subtle body and energy system led her to completing courses in the Dorn Method and Thai Yoga Massage. A strong interest in the body and conscious movement led to further train in Budokon (combining martial arts and yoga asana) and Aerology (aerial fabric fitness and mind conditioning).
Simply put, Fran loves to be working with bodies and with minds. She believes each person is unique in their journeying and process, and what applies to one may not be relevant to another. She tries to keep things simple and light, recognizing life as a gift and being grateful for what has been presented. Watching a sunset with a good glass of red wine and the company of friends is how she would choose to end a day.

“I began teaching Tai Chi Chuan in 2008…& I feel that my learning deepens with each day I share this art. Tai Chi & Qi Gong have been my passion & way of life for almost 20 years, 8 of which were under the tutelage of Dr Michael Lan. Dr Lan trained under Grandmaster Lin Feng-Chao, who in turn was a student of Professor Cheng Man-Ching. Professor Cheng Man-Ching popularized Tai Chi Chuan in the West.”
Before she stepped into the world of Tai Chi, Lesley-Ann was ( & still is) a fine artist. She studied Graphics & Illustration & has worked in advertising, corporate management, the health industry & editing fields. Lesley-Ann has written articles on Tai Chi for Oprah magazine, Healthy Choices, the Arthritis Foundation & on-line publications. Working with Dr Lan, she has been involved in on-going corporate & team building workshops. In 2009 she co-ordinated World Tai Chi & Qi Gong Day in Cape Town. Lesley-Ann has travelled to China & Taiwan to continue her studies. She won the overall Woman’s gold medal in Tuishou (Push Hands) in Taiwan in 2016. Lesley-Ann studied Traditional Chinese Medicine to further her understanding of ‘Chi’ or intrinsic energy. She holds a diploma in Advanced Acupuncture & continues to train & study to be able to share her knowledge.
“Our job is to be an awake people… utterly conscious, to attend to the world.” – Native American quote.

My favourite quote of the moment has to be: “Be silly. Be honest. Be kind.” By Ralph Waldo Emerson
My journey started when I attended my first Bikram yoga class in July 2007. At the time I did not realise what an impact it would have on my life. Afterwards I felt both exhausted and invigorated and kept going back for more.
I come from an Aerobic background where for 18 years I taught classes, trained new teachers and presented Workshops and Master Classes. For over 3 years I also competed internationally in Aerobic Sport Championships. Yoga became the new chapter that I developed a yearning for.
I have been practicing yoga 3 – 4 times a week since 2007 and I gradually stopped teaching Aerobics all together. However, I started to miss the dynamics of teaching to an audience.
In 2015 I enrolled to do a Teachers Training Course at Yo Yoga in Claremont under the guidance of Stuart Kirton and the rest of his team. I am qualified to teach Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yo Bikram after I graduated from this course.
Currently I teach Vinyasa Flow at the LELC Studio (Lourensford Wine Estate), The Hot Yoga Studio in Stellenbosch and Waterstone Virgin Active in Somerset West. I am also a substitute teacher for two other studios in the Cape Town Southern Suburbs.
I am particularly fond of the dynamics of Vinyasa Flow yoga. It allows me the opportunity to be more creative and it provides the basics of Yoga Asana practice.
It is very rewarding to be on this journey which allows me to develop mentally and physically in a practice that embraces a gentle and inclusive spirituality, while striving to create balance in life.
I am in awe at how much the work of Nia has changed me, my family and people I have met for the better! When I started Nia I was traumatised by several things that happened in my life including a bomb explosion where both my husband and child got injured. I was introverted and lived in fear. Nia’s music and movement changed it all. My nervous system has calmed down, and I am not merely surviving through fight or flight reactions, but am thriving. I feel strong and confident and have been sharing what I learn as a Nia teacher for the past couple of years. I am now a Nia brown belt , certified Green belt and 5 stages teacher, and am excited about what this ever evolving work will bring to myself and the ever growing Nia community across the world! I am Inspired in sharing & learning daily about the variety Nia has to offer to condition and restore us to optimal health in the mental, physical, emotional & spiritual realms of being. I am dedicated to awaken the dancer within everyone male & female and find balance and health through movement!
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there. Rumi
Tomi teaches a flowy vinyasa class choreographed to music on and off the mat. Each class is intelligently sequenced with an apex pose, muscle group or theme in mind. She is originally from LA, California where she studied Sport Science and began teaching group exercise classes (at a very young age) and personal training. Her yoga journey began in the late 90’s with Iyengar and Bikram classes complimenting the high intensity workouts that she loved. Yoga eventually took precedence and in 2002, she completed her TT with Gustavo Ponce in Santiago, Chile where she lived for 12 years. In 2003, she studied in India with Sharat and has continued to learn from others all around the world every chance she gets. Tomi moved to SW in 2012 with the Helderberg smiling down upon. She is passionate about movement, her family, teaching creatively, cooking, gardening and being authentic.
