The Designer Green-Fingers of Alosha Lynov

Alosha Lynov Creative Director and owner of 3D Deco, Alosha Lynov, began making magic with fabric at  the turn of the millennium. When viewing his impressive portfolio of events such as  Nedbank, MTN and Virgin Active, to name a few, it is hard to picture that in it’s previous life  this décor was a mere roll of lycra. What sparks the imagination of this Russian-born  designer…

“Nature, with all her interesting shapes and curves, inspires me to morph flat, straight lines into shapes of beauty,” says Alosha. “The geometric patterns in nature, of the world around and within, breathes ideas into my artworks without me even thinking about it. The creations grow where my energy flows and so the cycle continues,” he concludes.

Geometry has obviously played a large part in the development of Alosha’s creative genius. Reflections of sea shells, bisected fruit and mosaic patterns found in ancient buildings can be seen in his products.

These patterns are said to invoke imagination and creativity, and one can certainly see this echoed throughout 3D Deco.

It is no wonder that the visions of this dynamic wizard extend beyond the realm of the corporate field. Alosha’s plans include Cosmo grams and Wautilli food-shelter-water combos with permaculture as the core. These concepts for living sustainably and beautifully with the environment are based on the Fibonacci spiral and Tree of Life pattern sequence where the geometric proportions are intertwined with Universal Laws. How does growing plants connect with 3D Deco?

Alosha Lynov“I have always thrived on being outdoors,” says Alosha. “At first, my designs were basic representations of what I had seen and experienced on hikes, camping and similar activities. Later, I began to study the environment and Bio-Mimicry in more detail and so my knowledge of Mother Earth grew. It was during this time that I realised I had green fingers, and toes!”

Another of Alosha’s mesmerising products are his decorative mandalas and, as with the rest of his work, this resembles sequences found throughout nature, including the human body. He says, “Creating a new template or colouring in an existing one has such a calming affect on me, and our son loves it too.” Some of his templates can be found in the E-book ‘Living an Inspired Life with 4 to 6 year olds’ written by Alosha’s wife, Helen Hansen.
