Why You Should Be Interested In MCT Oil

Mct oil

Medium-chain triglycerides also known as MCTs are a special form of saturated fat abundantly found in coconut oil with antioxidant and antimicrobial properties that support your immune system.

It doesn’t come from some mystical far away land, collected by an indigenous tribe with great care and then shipped to you for free if you buy two bottles. Oh no! This stuff just works. And, that’s why I want to tell you why you need it in your life.

What really is MCT oil?

Think of MCT as a concentrated form of coconut oil. The extremely healthy saturated fat in coconut oil is comprised of MCT (medium chain triglycerides). And, MCT oil is a concentrated form of that fat.

Your body easily digests and uniquely metabolises MCT oil. It doesn’t metabolise it through the digestion process like other fats, but your body takes MCTs straight to your liver where they act similar to carbohydrates; providing instant, well-sustained energy. But isn’t not just the energy you get that makes MCT oil interesting and appealing.

MCTs have many other health benefits

They also boost metabolism (especially fat metabolism), improve blood sugar regulation, better thyroid function, and can also improve appetite regulation. This is why MCTs are great remedies for so many ailments, including diabetes, dementia and cystic fibrosis.

As far as brain function goes, MCT oil enhances ketone production. Ketones, of course, are a more efficient fuel for your brain. If you really want to be productive, you have to incorporate MCTs (or coconut oil) into your diet. You won’t regret it.

How to get your dose of MCT oil

You can eat a spoonful of coconut oil each morning, use coconut oil instead of butter on your toast or add one tablespoon of coconut oil into your favorite smoothie recipe. You can also use it in bulletproof coffee, to pop corn or as a popcorn topping. I enjoy coconut oil on baked potatoes.
